The House of Commons has developed a Call for Interest in order to identify an accredited Canadian university that can serve as the new host organization for the Parliamentary Internship Programme.

Since its founding in 1969, the Parliamentary Internship Programme (PIP) has been joinlty operated by the Canadian House of Commons in partnership with the Canadian Political Science Association (CPSA).

In April 2023, the Board of Directors of the CPSA decided that the organization would not renew its role as the PIP’s host organization following the expiration of its Service Agreement with the House of Commons. The CPSA has agreed to host the PIP until June 30, 2025, at which point the Programme would transition to the new organization.

The Call for Interest sets out the responsibilities for a new host organization and the support that the House of Commons will continue to provide to the Programme. Universities must submit their expressions of interest no later than March 15, 2024, at 6:00 PM Eastern Time.
